Abstract

The quartet formed by Didi, Dedé, Mussum and Zacarias, known as Os Trapalhões, had an important trajectory in the Brazilian media when it was presente, mainly, in television, cinema and comics. The objective of this work is to make a historical journey about the film franchise of Os Trapalhões, which started with the film In the wave of iê-iê-iê (1965, Aurélio Teixeira) until the last production, Os saltimbancos Trapalhões: towards Hollywood (2017, João Daniel Tikhomiroff). This work identifies all the cinematographic productions of the group and their respective directors from 1965 to 2017; and the thematic orderings of the films of the quartet, proposed by Ramos (1995 2004) and Lunardelli (1996) are updated. As a main result, it can be seen that the narratives of almost all the films in the group's franchise are based on anthropophagic issues, as well as having a strong media influx from national television works and American cinema that awaken to the consumption of these references and other works by Os Trapalhões.
