- Castanhari's Animated Retrospective 2023 and the musical kingdom of easter-eggs

between reading promises and interactants' interests

Abstract

This article seeks to identify reading promises established (and broken) between YouTuber Felipe Castanhari and his audience in Retrospectiva Animada 2023. To understand this dialog, we used previous editions of the production, comments left by Internet users on the videos and reacts published on YouTube related to 2023. Using Audiovisual Materiality Analysis, we identified the presence of an "Easter egg aesthetic", the synesthesia between music and image, the promises of reading between the real, the playful and the fictitious, and the predominance of "Darth Vader Syndrome" detected, along the lines defined by Mata. As a result, we observed the public's expectation of finding a minimally journalistic structure similar to traditional retrospectives, despite it being content associated with entertainment, and interest in content from the politics section.
